The Flor Essence herbs:
Extracts from burdock (Arctium lappa), sheep sorrel (Rumex acetosella), slippery elm (Ulmus rubra), kelp (Laminaria digitata), blessed thistle (Cnicus benedictus), watercress (Nasturtium officinale) and red clover (Trifolium pratense)- A synergistic blend of 7 of the 8 herbs in Flor Essence Herbal Tea Blend, chosen for their antioxidant and anti-aging qualities. These herbs detoxify both internally and externally, supply essential vitamins and minerals, and stimulate cellular regeneration. They also have antiseptic, antiinflammatory and antibacterial qualities, and can soothe and moisturize irritated skin. (Turkish rhubarb is the 8th herb in Flor Essence; it is not included in the cream because its detoxifying action is purely internal.)

Meadowfoam (Limnanthes alba) seed oil - A very moisturizing and extremely stable oil from a plant native to the West coast of North America. Contains a potent natural antioxidant and can extend the shelf life of other less stable ingredients. Forms a non-greasy barrier on the skin to prevent moisture loss, helping to reduce wrinkles and signs of aging.
Sodium Hyaluronate - Plant-sourced hyaluronic acid. A protein naturally occurring in the skin, it moisturizes and conditions, and is able to bind 1000 times its weight in water, keeping skin moist and smooth. An excellent cellular renewal and healing agent that is found in all human cells. Promotes microcirculation and nutrient absorption.
Malic acid - An alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) derived from apples, malic acid can help exfoliate the top layers of the epidermis. AHAs also promote moisture restoration and help the penetration of other ingredients in the formula.
Lactic acid - Produced by bacterial fermentation. Lactic acid is among the mildest of AHAs, and is used in dermatology to hydrate and smooth dry, flaking skin by exfoliating surface skin cells.
Grape seed (Vitis vinifera) extrac - Masquelier's Authentic Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins (OPCs): a potent antioxidant. Helps to prevent and repair free radical damage. Improves microcirculation and strengthens collagen, resulting in an anti-aging effect against sunburn and wrinkles.
Retinol - Vitamin A. A hydrating antioxidant, excellent for rough, scaly, dry or damaged skin. Helps normalize hyper-pigmentation and heal sunburns through cellular regeneration. Anti-aging, anti-wrinkle.
Citrus bioflavanoid complex - Detoxifying antioxidants, chosen for their ability to encourage cellular regeneration, combat wrinkles, heal sunburns and improve microcirculation.
Vitamin K (phytonadione) - Helps reduce the appearance of spider veins, scars and wrinkles.
Yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) extract - A skin oxygenator and cellular regenerator, rich in vitamin B complex and derived from mushrooms. True nourishment for the skin.
Wheat germ (Triticum vulgare) extract - An anti-aging, anti-wrinkle respiratory agent (oxygenator) for the tissues. Extracted from the core of the wheat kernel. High in vitamins E, B1, B6 and omega-6 essential fatty acid.

Water - Fresh, clean, filtered for purity.
Isostearic acid - A naturally occurring fatty acid from coconut or palm oil, used to dissolve active ingredients and to increase the penetrability of the cream.
Glyceryl Stearate - A combination of glycerin and stearic acid. Acts as an emulsifier, surfactant and emollient. Helps to keep moisture in the cream.
Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides - Medium-chain fatty acids sourced from coconut or palm kernel oil. A solubilizer, lubricant and emulsifier that protects and conditions the skin. Contributes to the texture of the cream.
Stearic acid - A long-chain saturated fatty acid derived from coconut or palm oil. On its own, it is an emollient, surfactant, moisturizer and emulsifier. Stearic acid is also used in the production of many other cosmetic ingredients.
Shea butter (Butyrospermum parkii) - A rich moisturizer derived from the fruit of the Karite tree. Encourages cellular regeneration, favours the healing of cracked, damaged skin. Its restructuring effects on the epidermis help reduce the signs of aging. Commonly used to repair and prevent stretch marks.
Glycerin - A sugar alcohol produced naturally from vegetable oils. A humectant; keeps water in the cream. Commonly used to make soaps, creams and food products.
Dimethicone - A silicon-based compound derived from sand. Delivers the active ingredients into the skin.
Rice (Oryza sativa) bran extract - A certified organic extract of non-GMO rice bran, rich in vitamins and minerals. This unique mucilaginous gum acts as an emulsifier to keep the cream from separating.
Sage (Salvia officinalis) oil - Long used as a topical antiseptic and astringent, sage oil may help speed healing of minor wounds. Also contributes antioxidant properties.
